Hiatus hernia Barium swallow





A 63 years male with epigastic burning pain.


GE reflux in Tredlenburg position.
GE reflux with secondary crico-pharyngeal muscle spasm.

Esophageal perforation.

An elderly person accidentally ate a tablet along with its foil followed by severe chest pain.



Gastrograffin swallow study  was done-


There was a esopahegal tear with leak into the right pleural space. It was managed conservatively. After 1 month he developed right sided empyema. So the tear was sealed by a  plugging device. Gastrograffin swallow done after the procedure did not reveal any leak.
History of trauma-



Bennett Fracture

Should be fixed within one month or else it may undergo malunion after which it has to be managed conservatively. Arthritis of 1st carpo-metacarpal joint is a complication.

What are signs of pneumothorax on supine chest radiograph?

Multiple air space opacities in bilateral upper and mid zone s/o infective etiology. (Pulmonary Koch's)

11 yrs male with swelling along proximal portion of tibia-

1) Soft axillary swelling-



Axillary breast on both sides.
 No e/o spiculated mass/architectural distortion.

History of trauma



Chip Fracture of  distal end of radius with fracture line extending into radio-carpal wrist joint.
Fracture ulnar styloid process.
Complete fracture of scaphoid waist
Lunate dislocation.( lunate overlaps capitate on AP view and shows spill teacup appearance on lateral view)
Old traumatic fracture-


Atrophic non-union of fracture of distal  1/3rd shaft of tibia.
Deformed united fracture of distal shaft of fibula
History of trauma.
